System technician requirements and qualifications
Degree in computer science, engineering or a related field
X years of experience as a system engineer or a similar role
X years of experience with Linux or Unix, Debian or Ubuntu environments
Excellent knowledge and knowledge of the network and application levels
Ability to quickly diagnose problems and propose solutions
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) is highly desirable
VMWare certification very desirable
Cisco certification very desirable
Experience and knowledge of operating systems and server solutions (Exchange, SQL, Terminal Services (RDS), IIS, AD). · ·
Experience with Perl, Ruby, Python
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
