To be successful as a desktop support technician, you must be highly qualified to adapt and maintain computers and their networks. Responsibilities of the desktop support technician:
  • Provide advice to staff on appropriate procedures to answer their IT questions and recommendations.
  • Receipt and documentation of support requests.
  • Decide the best ways to provide help.
  • Provide IT and related assistance upon request or as you see fit
  • Set up new desktops, routers, modems, and similar devices.
  • Routine inspections and maintenance of existing plants.
  • Update computer operating systems and other important software, if necessary.
  • Substantial requests for hardware and software purchases and updates, if applicable.
  • Provide suggestions on proper staff training.

Desktop Service Technical Requirements:
  • Graduated in a computer-focused discipline.
  • The relevant three-year degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience as a desktop support technician or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with all the functions of TeamViewer.
  • Features required to provide personal and remote IT support.
  • Fantastic installation, diagnosis, update and recovery features.
  • Excellent vertical and lateral thinking.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Tolerant, flexible and supportive.
